Description: CATCH My Breath Youth E-Cigarette Prevention Program includes a best-practices based curriculum consisting of 4 versions depending on grade level, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and one 9th thru 12th grades. Created by researchers at the University of Texas School of Public Health, CMB is based on a Social Cognitive Theory model of prevention and aligns with the National Health Education Standards.  The 4-lesson curriculum uses peer facilitators to guide classroom activities that increase students’ knowledge and motivations to abstain from e-cigarettes and build skills for resisting peer and media influences. The program also includes education for teachers and parents to increase their own knowledge of e-cigarettes, online resources, school signage, and take-home materials for parents. During a 26-school pilot study, 86% of students agreed that they were less likely to use e-cigarettes as a result of the program. The CATCH My Breath Program is being offered for free thanks to our funders with CVS Health as part of their Be The First Campaign.
