Overview: Attendees will take a critical look at the NC Essential Standards for middle school and 9th grade Health and gain a deeper understanding of the knowledge and skills students should develop each year. They will collaborate with colleagues to create a practical pacing guide and leave with several new ideas for projects, review games, and critical thinking activities to implement immediately in their health classroom. This will be a great session for those new to teaching health or veteran teachers looking to spice up their instruction. The literacy component will be met through the demonstration of practical graphic organizers, foldables, and grouping strategies. The technology component will be met through the use of the online review game Kahoot! as well as projects that include technology such as Canva, Windows Movie Maker, and Google Docs.
